RE Magnet – Skirted
Rare earth magnets are used in fishing operations where this a need to remove odd shaped ferrous materials from the wellbore.
A spring loaded skirt may be added to RE magnets to trap or contain materials that may be dislodged or pulled from the magnet due to other debris in the wellbore, deviation, or restrictions such as profile nipples, side pocket mandrels, or sliding side doors.
Applications:
Rare earth magnets can be utilized to fish broken pulling tool parts, packer slips, wire, or broken plungers.
Rare earth magnets can also be used to remove balls from frac sleeves, or items that have been accidentally introduced into the wellbore during maintenance operations.
