Used in conjunction with other wireline fishing tools to locate and retrieve lost or broken wireline.

Wireline spears consists of two components, the locator sub, and the wireline spear.

The body is a long rod shaped tool and pointed at the bottom.

The locator sub has the ability to accept threaded rings depending on the ID of tubing worked with.

Barbs attached to the body, point upward in a staggered pattern around the length of the body.

Applications:

To loosen compacted wireline nests in tubing.

Used in conjunction with wireline grabs when compacted nests are encountered.

May also be used to fish packer cups or rubber from wellbore.
